Scammer Lets Woman Off the Hook When He Hears She is Pregnant

Business owner, Sara Carr, received a voice mail from a scammer who claimed to be an IRS agent. The scammer said that she had a lean on her property and that she was going to have her property repossessed. The person who left the message was able to tell Carr a large amount of her personal details, including her personal address. Worried that it was an official phone call from the IRS, Carr returned the phone call, and told the scammer that she was nine months pregnant and was due in a few days, hoping that the IRS would show her some mercy.

When he heard that she was nine months pregnant, the scammer revealed to her that he was not calling from the IRS, and that she was just being scammed. He told her that she had nothing to worry about and hung up the phone. Carr says that she is not as shocked at the fact that the scam was revealed to her, as she is at the fact that he had such a large amount of information about her. She says that she hears about scams all the time, and thinks that she would have been smart enough to know, but it sounded so real.
